
Evidence shows that MHFA Mental Health First Aid training helps to reduces social distance between the participant and someone who is experiencing a mental health problem.
One in five people will experience a mental health problem this year. MHFA training helps participants to increase their awareness of signs and symptoms of the most common mental health problems.
Sometimes, the most difficult part of intervening is knowing what to say. After taking this course, participants report feeling more confident in engaging with someone who is experiencing a mental health problem.
Module 1: Self-Directed (2 Hours)
-Introduction to the course
-Introduction to MHFA actions
Module 2: Virtual Classroom (3.5 Hours)
-Practice applying MHFA actions to situations of declining mental well-being
-Guidelines for MHFA conversations with people from diverse cultures and members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community
Module 3: Virtual Classroom (3.5 Hours)
-Discussion on using MHFA actions for self-care
-Practice using MHFA actions in crisis situations
Modules 2 and 3 can be completed in two 3.5 hour sessions over one or two days.
We are on Atlantic time and invite participants from all Canadian time zones to join us.
